This Open House event is for Northwestern undergraduate students or staff who are interested in a career in education. There will be various stations set up where students can learn more about our program and engage with TLEP faculty and staff. We are excited to learn about students' interests while considering how our programs can help them reach their goals.
The Teaching, Learning, and Education Program has a variety of pathways that can support candidates in becoming a transformative educator. Our program is designed for students who aspire to be a classroom teacher or an educator in other spaces, or who wish to study learning, explore important issues in education, or learn more about the design of learning environments. Our undergraduate programs include SESP Elementary Teaching, SESP Secondary Teaching, and pathways to completing teacher licensure requirements while enrolled in a school other than SESP. Additionally, we offer the traditional Master of Science in Education & Social Policy with concentrations in Classroom Teaching (Elementary, Secondary), Educational Studies, and Learning Sciences. Finally, we offer the Accelerated Master of Science in Education & Social Policy, in which students may obtain a bachelor’s and master's degree in as little as 5 years by completing some coursework towards any of the MSED concentrations during their undergraduate studies.
Drop-ins are welcome! If students know in advance they would like to attend, they can complete this RSVP. Feel free to drop by and play games! Popcorn will be provided.
*Please note that the final admission application deadline for the Master of Science in Education & Social Policy Program for a Fall 2026 entry is July 10th, 2026.
