We are excited to announce that CEO and co-founder of memQ, Manish Kumar Singh, will be joining NU SPIE to deliver a talk on "The power of Quantum Connectivity" on Wednesday, April 1, from 12pm - 1pm in Ryan 4003.

In other exciting news, memQ is hiring and they want to hear from you! Join us for the after-seminar session for an informal discussion with Manish.

Abstract:

As quantum computing approaches the threshold of commercial utility, the focus is shifting from the density of qubits on a single chip to the challenge of networking these systems together. Without a robust quantum network, the potential for distributed quantum computing, secure communication, and large-scale quantum sensing remains out of reach.
In this talk, Dr. Manish Kumar Singh will discuss the development of the Extensible Quantum Network Architecture (xQNA), which enables networked quantum channels between quantum processing units (QPUs) and supports use cases for scaling quantum compute instances beyond a single chip. He will explore how memQ utilizes rare-earth ions—specifically Erbium—to create solid-state quantum memory that operates natively at telecom wavelengths. More importantly, Dr. Singh will highlight how memQ bridges the gap between laboratory breakthroughs and commercial reality by integrating these quantum systems into standard silicon photonics foundry proc
