Join us at the Black House on April 14th from 5-7pm for a screening and discussion of the short film called “We Call Each Other.” In this film, a community learns how to build relationships that dissolve their reliance on prisons and police. Through the cultivation of love-based experiments, the film features characters who grapple with how to respond to instances of harm and crisis.
Following the screening of this short film, we will have a dialogue with the film writer and director Sarah Oberholtzer (NU Alum from the School of Communication –RTVF), Black Studies Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Joshua L. Crutchfield, and the gathered community. This film evokes generative conversations about community care, repair, and transformation in everyday life. Delicious food will be served! Bring yourself, your voice, your experience, and your imagination!
