Learn how to perform foundational machine learning tasks in Python using the popular scikit-learn package.

This workshop lasts two days, each day from 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. Attending both days is important.

In this workshop, we will learn how to perform foundational machine learning tasks using scikit-learn, a popular Python library that allows you to streamline machine learning projects and offers a wide variety of models. The workshop will provide you with hands-on experience with supervised and unsupervised methods, including classification, regression, clustering, and dimensionality reduction, as well as methods for validation and evaluation. We will also learn how to use other handy scikit-learn tools, like pipelines.

Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with Python at the level of the Python Fundamentals workshop, another introductory Python workshop, or be a self-taught Python coder. No previous machine learning knowledge is assumed.

Event details: This workshop is held in person; there is no hybrid option or recording available. This is an interactive, hands-on workshop; participants are required to bring their laptop and charger.
