Please join us virtually for our monthly IRB Brown Bag Session on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM CST featuring members of the Northwestern University IRB Office: Laura Loeb, PhD, CIP, Social Behavioral Team, and Therese Brown, BA, CCRC, Biomedical Team.
This session provides an overview of the IRB protocol templates and key considerations for developing a clear and comprehensive research protocol. Through a review of the Biomedical, Data and Specimen Analysis, and Social Behavioral protocol templates, attendees will learn how to select the appropriate template for their study, identify common issues encountered during IRB review, and locate resources available to support protocol preparation.
By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
• Determine the appropriate protocol template for their study.
• Identify and avoid common pitfalls in preparing IRB protocols.
• Locate resources available to assist with protocol preparation and IRB review.
