Bienen faculty member and violinist Jinjoo Cho is joined by Bienen students and guest artists to perform a chamber recital devoted to the music of Nikolai Medtner and his contemporaries. Program highlights include Medtner's Violin Sonata No. 2 in G Major, Op. 44 (“Spring Sonata”), with late-Romantic textures recalling Russia in spring; Rachmaninoff’s Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G Minor, influenced by Tchaikovsky; and Medtner’s Piano Quintet in C Major, the composer’s final work and the pinnacle of his achievement.
