Title: Partition regularity of equations
Abstract: A central principle in Ramsey theory is that if you partition a structured
object into finitely many pieces, then one of the pieces must retain some of the original
structure. That phenomenon is called partition regularity. In this talk, we will discuss
partition regularity of equations over the integers. We will begin with linear equations,
and then give an overview of what is known about quadratic equations. Some of the
results presented are joint works with Frantzikinakis, and with Leng and McNamara.
Note: The talk will start at 4:10 pm
