Ash Hamilton will present "The importance of understanding clonality in plant conservation". This talk explores how clonality can complicate conservation efforts and emphasizes the importance of understanding clonal patterns in species of conservation concern using Quercus brandegeei, an endangered Mexican oak, as a case study.
Kieran Althaus will present " “Biogeography and the origins of isolation in Oaks.” Understanding the geographic history of lineages helps explain how ecological and evolutionary processes generate reproductive isolation. Kieran integrates macroevolution, biogeography and genomics to understand the origins of these dynamics in North American oaks (Quercus).
