In this interactive workshop, participants will explore both technology-enhanced and low-tech strategies that encourage students to think critically, collaborate, and actively engage with course content. The foundation is Active Learning, an instructional methodology that engages students in developing higher-order thinking and collaboration skills. Participants will play with two printable card decks, one featuring active learning techniques and the other highlighting analog-inspired approaches to teaching in an AI-enhanced world.
During this online session, participants will:
-Learn why active learning remains a best-practice for teaching in the AI age,
-Develop a plan for how to implement active learning in their courses
-Reflect on uniquely human skills essential for growth in a learning environment for students while their learning and for future
