Join Global Café for a special Sunday afternoon at the Chicago Humanities Festival! We’ll attend a conversation with award-winning historian Sarah M. S. Pearsall about her latest book, Freedom Round the Globe.
What does “freedom” mean when we look beyond the borders of a single country? Pearsall’s work invites us to think globally about the movement of people and ideas and about how concepts of freedom, family, race, and belonging have been shaped across different societies and historical contexts.
We’ll begin the afternoon together with pizza at the Norris Underground at 3:00 PM, giving students a chance to meet other Global Café participants and chat before the program. At 3:30 PM, we’ll walk together to Norris McCormick Auditorium & John J. Louis Room for the Chicago Humanities Festival event.
Global Café will provide your event ticket and a copy of the book, so everything is taken care of—just come ready for an afternoon of conversation, new ideas, and community!
