The Northwestern Graduate Student Teaching Conference is a two-day event for all graduate students with teaching responsibilities at Northwestern.
The conference features sessions offered by Campus Partners and discipline- and responsibility-specific workshops led by trained Conference Workshop Leaders with experience TAing at Northwestern to support the responsibilities of graduate students.
These sessions are intended to prepare graduate students for their roles in classroom settings and connect them with resources to support their teaching and their students.
The Objectives of the Conference are to:
- Introduce graduate students to evidence-based teaching practices specific to their department or teaching assignment via workshops led by experienced peers
- Introduce graduate students to campus resources related to their teaching responsibilities via sessions hosted by campus partners
- Build a supportive community of graduate students around learning and teaching
