for Northwestern University Clinical & Translational Sciences (NUCATS Institute) Research Team Support & Development
The Northwestern University research enterprise is distinguished by its ability to define and lead collaborative group research that lies at the intersection of traditional disciplinary boundaries—team science. Productive cross-disciplinary research collaborations of this kind are an essential feature of a robust translational research enterprise. Thus, Research Team Support & Development (RTS&D) offers collaboration enhancement and research development for team-based, cross-disciplinary translational biomedical research. With a focus on both the praxis of team science (the practical aspects of science performed in teams) and the science of team science (empirical research on scientific teams), RTS&D serves as a conduit to help translate empirical research findings about team science into evidence-based effective practices for scientific teams and funders of team science.
Holly Falk-Krzesinski, PhD, research assistant professor in NUCATS serves as the RTS&D Director and has experience catalyzing and fostering a number of major multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary, team-oriented translational research initiatives spanning structural genomics of infectious diseases to cancer nanotechnology to oncofertility to regenerative medicine.
