Mark Atwood Lawrence, University of Texas-Austin

Mark Lawrence, Associate Professor of history at the University of Texas at Austin, is author of Assuming the Burden: Europe and the American Commitment to War in Vietnam and The Vietnam War: A Concise International History. He has also published essays on various topics in Cold War history and is now working on a study of U.S. policymaking toward the Third World during the 1960s.
