Post-election Analysis with Mara Suttmann-Lea
Convenience at a Cost: Early Voting and the 2016 Presidential Elections
Thursday, November 17th, 2016
12:30pm to 1:30pm
Scott Hall, Room 212
PhD Candidate Mara Suttmann-Lea breaks down the presidential election results and talks about the implications of early voting for the 2016 elections. She'll also discuss the broader implications of this election cycle for American politics. Brief lecture followed by discussion and Q&A.
Mara is a sixth year PhD student who will defend her dissertation this spring. Her dissertation shows how the adoption of no-excuse early voting-- an ostensibly small institutional reform-- has had a transformative effect on the dynamics of campaigns in the U.S. and the legal grounds on which elections are contested.
Open to all majors/minors.
Lunch will be provided
