Description:

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese and the Portuguese Language Program invite you to attend a conversation with Ésio Macedo Ribeiro, Brazilian author and Literary Critic.  He will discuss highlights of his books: "E o que tem," "Estranhos Proximos" e "Drama em Sol para o Seculo XXI."

Ésio Macedo Ribeiro is a Doctor of Brazilian Literature from the University of Sao Paolo, writer, bibliophile and photographer.  He is the author of E Lucifer da Seu Beijo, Pontuacao Circense, O Riso Escuro ou o Pavao de Luto: Um Percuso pela Poesia de Lucio Cardoso, Estranhos Proximos, Drama em Sol para o Seculo XXI; and organizer and editor of Poesia Completa by Lucio Cardoso, Diarios by Lucio Cardoso, O Vento da Noite, by Emily Bronte, translated by Lucio Cardoso, Ana Karenina by Liev Tolstoi, translated by Lucio Cardoso (to be published in 2019), and, with Marilia de Andrade, organizer of the book Maria Antonieta d'Alkmin e Oswald de Andrade: Marco Zero.  Living in Chicago since 2015, he has been writing his second novel.
