The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) provides funding towards graduate studies for students in STEM disciplines. The application requires both a research proposal and a personal statement.
This 3-day Workshop will focus on the following:
-General information about the GRFP review process
-Strategies to assist you in introducing yourself to the reviewers
-Techniques to describe your research and extracurricular activities
-Characteristics of successful essays and common pitfalls to avoid
Day 1 (Tuesday, June 23rd, 1pm to 2:15pm CST)
General GRFP Information and Introduction to Personal Statement
Day 2 (Thursday, June 25th, 1pm to 2:15pm CST)
Personal statement: Intellectual Merit and Broader Impacts
Day 3 (Monday, June 29th, 1pm to 2:15pm CST)
Research Statement
You must register in order to attend these sessions.
Each workshop will build upon the previous session. Feel free to attend one, two, or all. The purpose of these sessions is to give you a jump start for writing your personal and research statements.
