Please join us for a fireside chat with Northwestern Buffett Visiting Scholar and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Clinical Fellow Najia Mahmodi on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. CDT (GMT-5).
Najia is a renowned lawyer focused on gender and the elimination of violence against women. She is an Elimination of Violence against Women (EVAW) law expert with over five years of experience in the fields of prosecution, legal affairs and international law practices in Afghanistan. She earned her law degree from the American University of Afghanistan and has participated in several legal trainings abroad. Her professional areas of interest include the promotion of women's rights, good governance and women, gender equality, elimination of violence against women, women, peace and security, legal affairs, and women in leadership in Afghanistan, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work.
