Wednesday, August 24 will mark six months since Russia invaded Ukraine and Ukraine's Independence Day. Join the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and Northwestern Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences' Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies Research Program (REEES) at 12:00 p.m. CDT for a virtual panel discussion on the unfolding situation in Ukraine and the direction the war may be headed.
Panelists will include Tymofii Brik, Rector and Head of Sociological Research at Kyiv School of Economics; Benjamin Frommer, Associate Professor of History at Northwestern's Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences; Olga Kamenchuk, Associate Professor of Research with the Northwestern Institute for Policy Research; Ian Kelly, Ambassador in Residence at Northwestern University, former U.S. Ambassador to Georgia and former U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE); Jordan Gans-Morse, Associate Professor of Political Science and Faculty Director of REEES at Northwestern; Tymofiy Mylovanov, President of Kyiv School of Economics; Michael Rogers, Senior Fellow and Adjunct Professor in the Kellogg Executive Leadership Institute at Northwestern; and Gayle Woloschak, Professor of Radiation Oncology and Radiology at Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine.
The discussion will be moderated by Annelise Riles, Executive Director of the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and Associate Provost for Global Affairs at Northwestern University.
