Northwestern University has observer status as an accredited nongovernmental organization with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and has sent delegations composed of faculty and graduate students to attend climate change conferences since 2021. Delegates have engaged with the international climate negotiation process, shared their research and innovative practices and developed new connections and partnerships. This year, the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and will take place from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
The Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs invites you to join us for an information session for Northwestern faculty members and graduate students who are interested in applying to join this year’s delegation. During the session, you will hear from past delegates and program leadership about:
- How universities and researchers engage in COP
- Northwestern’s application process and program details
- The COP experience and tips for navigating COP events
The session will conclude with a Q&A and the recording will be sent to all who register.
