Current Ethical Challenges in Cancer Genetic Testing and Management
The promise of personalized preventive medicine in the oncology space aspires for better health outcomes for patients through application of screening and management based on individual, specific risks for illness or disease. Genetic testing/screening plays an integral role in this approach, and issues with equitable access and utility of results abound. Because of the medical implications of cancer genetic testing and the financial cost attached to recommended management, ensuring health equity in cancer detection and prevention must be made a priority.
This lecture is open to the public and will be held in the Searle Seminar Room in the Lurie Research Building (303 E Superior), Chicago Campus. For those outside the Chicago area and anyone who would prefer to attend remotely, a Zoom option is also available.
