Please join the South Asia Research Forum and the Department of Art History together with the American Council for Southern Asian Art (ACSAA) as they host Susan Stronge, Senior Curator in the Asian Department of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence, is a visually rich journey through the splendor of Mughal art and design highlighting the monumental artistic achievements of the ‘Golden Age’ of the Mughal court (c. 1560-1660). Join us for a talk by Susan Stronge on the exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum for an in-depth look at the Mughal Empire’s most significant period under emperors Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan who presided over a unique and fantastic style, blending Persian, Central Asian, and European ideas, that has fascinated the world for centuries.
