Join CNAIR for our 8th Annual Research Symposium at the Woman's Club of Evanston on April 9 and 10!
We will be using this year's guiding framework of Indigenous feminisms to help us understand the historic formation and contemporary structures of our present world, especially as it has been shaped by settler colonialism. As a mode of interpretation and critique, Indigenous feminisms centers Indigenous epistemologies and sovereignty, drawing on the many and varied intellectual and philosophical traditions of Indigenous people across the globe.
We are excited to announce our two KEYNOTE speakers:
EVE TUCK, Professor of Indigenous Studies and James Weldon Johnson Professor at Steinhardt, Dept of Applied Statistics, Social Sciences & Humanities, and the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, NYU; founding director, Provostial Center for Indigenous Studies at NYU
DANA HEDGPETH, Reporter, The Washington Post; 2025 Indigenous Journalism Association-Medill Milestone Achievement Award Recipient
Please invite your colleagues, friends, family, and community to register and attend this in person event!
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided both days of the symposium! Breakfast is served at 8:30am both days.
This event is co-sponsored by Native American and Indigenous Affairs (NAI), the Research for Indigenous Social Action and Equity (RISE) Center, the Buffet Institute for Global Affairs, the Office of Community Enrichment, the Office of Research, the Medill School of Journalism, the Block Museum of Art, the Institute for Policy Research, the Weinberg Program In Environmental Policy and Culture, and the Center for Water Research.
