Staging Repair: Theatre, Restorative Justice, and Youth Incarceration in Colombia
Based on several years of collective work in juvenile detention centers and community-based reintegration programs, the book examines how theater can support the implementation of restorative justice policies in Colombia. Combining conceptual reflection with a practical manual of embodied and writing-based exercises, the project explores how performance can activate processes of memory, responsibility, and repair in contexts shaped by violence and social exclusion.
The talk will reflect on the ethical questions, methodological challenges, and critical tensions that emerge from artistic work with incarcerated youth, opening a space to discuss the possibilities and limits of theater as a tool for social repair in carceral settings.
