Are you a Northwestern student interested in climate change or global environmental governance? Would you like to attend the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)? Join us for an information session on the Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs' student research opportunity at the United Nations' next annual climate change conference, COP31.
Accepted students take a fall-quarter POLI_SCI 390 course, taught by Professor Iza Ding, that provides foundational knowledge of global climate governance and offers an immersive experience at COP, taking place in Antalya, Turkey in 2026 (November 9–20). Students will gain firsthand insights into the negotiation processes and dynamics shaping global climate policy. Students will also complete an original research project, either individually or collaboratively. Learn more >>
This session will not be recorded. If you are unable to attend due to a class or work schedule conflict, you may reach out to Buffett-Undergrad-Programs@Northwestern.edu to request the presentation slides.
Please note that 720 University Place is not an ADA-accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated.
