Join us for a discussion on the dimensions of income inequality, regional disparities, and labor market inequality in Indonesia.

Join the Roberta Buffett Institute's Equality Development and Globalization Studies (EDGS) Program for a discussion on the profile of inequality in Indonesia with Buffett-EDGS Visiting Scholar Muhammad Hanri. Doors will open at 12:00 p.m., and lunch will be served beginning at 12:15 p.m.

The talk will present a recent study from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Indonesia's Institute for Economic and Social Research examining inequality in Indonesia. The study covers income and consumption inequality, regional disparities, labor market inequality, and access to basic services. Hanri will highlight how inequality differs across provinces, urban and rural areas, and socio-economic groups and introduce a conceptual framework for analyzing inequality, including the Gender and Economic Development Studies perspective, to show how gender and structural factors interact with economic inequality. Hanri's talk aims to provide an integrated picture of inequality trends and policy challenges in Indonesia.
