In the wake of coordinated US and Israeli strikes inside Iran that killed the nation’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior officials, retaliatory attacks and rising civilian casualties are further destabilizing the region. What's next for Iran, the Middle East, and US foreign policy? Drawing on faculty experts across Northwestern, this panel discussion will explore the origins and consequences of the US and Israel’s military campaign. The conversation will also consider the social, economic, and humanitarian impacts on communities; the uncertainties surrounding Iran’s internal political transition; and the broader implications for regional stability and global norms.
