Join us in the gallery for a talk with Eduardo Bello, 2025–26 Block Museum Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellow and co-curator of Picturing the Modern Metropolis: Prints and Photographs from The Block’s Collection. Drawing from works in the exhibition, the talk will explore how artistic expressions of urban modernity were shaped by the creative exchanges, educational institutions, and local communities that make the city thrive.

Programs are open to all, on a first-come first-served basis. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required.
About the speaker:
Eduardo Bello is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Northwestern University and the co-curator of Picturing the Modern Metropolis: Prints and Photographs from The Block's Collection. His research explores transnational urban visual culture, with a focus on photography, architecture, and film. His dissertation, Surfaces of Projection: Cars, Glass, and Glamour in Mexico's Urban Visual Culture (1940s–1970s), examines the role of car windshields, storefront windows, and movie theaters in representations of urban modernity across media.
