"Translation in a Conflict Zone," with Yehuda Shnhav, Professor Emeritus of Sociology, Tel Aviv University
Yehouda Shenhav-Shahrabani (Ph.D Stanford 1985) is a professor emeritus of sociology at Tel Aviv University, and chief editor of Maktoob, a book series for the translation of Arabic literature, at the Jerusalem Vanleer Institute. He is also Membre duConseil Scientifique de l'Institute d'Études Avancées de Nantes. Among his books: Manufacturing Rationality The Arab Jews (2006, Stanford University Press) and Beyond the Two State Solution (2014, Polity Press). He translated 20 novels from Arabic to Hebrew, among them of Elias Khoury, Salman Natour, Mahmoud Shukair, Ali al-Muqri, Samuel Shimon, Eyad Barguti – among others.
