While years of population-level declines in tobacco use marks a substantial public health win, cigarette use remains the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S. and declines have not been equivalent across all subgroups. This landscape is also complicated by the continued development and marketing of novel products, such as e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and oral nicotine pouches. This talk will describe current challenges in the field along with implications and potential solutions for people across the lifespan who use nicotine/tobacco products.
